Many wise people say that the passion for horses is in your blood. I
believe I was born with a special gene that makes you want to live
and breathe horses.
I grew up riding in Southern California starting at age 5. It is popular
opinion that the riding bug got a hold of me as soon as I was born.
Some of my mom's first words to me were you will ride and you will
love it. Little did she know that my love of horses would rival hers
and we really were in it for the long haul.
At age 10 I embarked on my first horse deal. I wrote an ad on the
internet requesting a pony with no vices, auto lead changes, and
emphasizing that it would go to a good home. A judge in Northern
California contacted my family asking about the ad. This response
led me to the pony that would be known as Seeing is Believing. We
went on to compete successfully in the 2001 National Pony Medal
Finals.
After I sold my pony, I catch rode many horses until at age 13
it was time to scour the country for an equitation horse.
It was incredibly educational for me to travel to Canada,
Holland, and all over the United States to try various horses
I had a number of wonderful equitation rides throughout my
junior years. A couple of those mounts were the type of
horses that could breathe confidence into you and take you to
the top ranks (Time to Believe and Altobelli).
At the age of 16 I realized that I wanted to explore the
training aspect of the sport. I enjoy working with kids so I
started as a Pony Camp Counselor. Finding out that I loved teaching, I started working for Cha Cha Jago of
Jigsaw Farms. I was incredibly lucky to obtain some rides on the clients’ horses and had great success in
the Hunters and Jumpers aboard those mounts.
While working for Jigsaw Farms, I attended Pepperdine
University and received my Multiple Subject Teaching
Credential. Graduated with Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies
with a Spanish Concentration.
Working at Jigsaw Farms for seven years gave me the
foundation I needed to branch out on my own. As I formed
Husky Stables, I knew that I wanted to focus on having a
small business.
I am a USHJA Certified Trainer. I always find opportunities
to continue my education and attend as many clinics as
possible.
Some of the accolades I received throughout my riding career include:
